Al Ahly lost to Talae’ea El Gaish 1-0 tonight in the Egyptian Premier League at the Military Academy Stadium.
Our players started the game with frontline pressure to score the early opener.
In the 22nd minute, we were close to breaking the deadlock. Luis Miquissone sent a fantastic pass to Ahmed Gharib, who fired a first-time shot, but his efforts went to the keeper’s hands.
The Red Eagles kept searching to score a goal and we had a dangerous chance in the 59th minute, as Mohamed Fakhry sent a beautiful pass inside the box, but Gharib’s header went to a goal kick.
However, in the 66th minute, Ahmed Samir scored the first goal for Talae’ea El Gaish. Four minutes later, Ricardo Soares used his bench for the first time, as Ziad Tarek joined the game instead of Ahmed Gharib.
In the 77th minute, Rafaat Khalil and Mohamed Mahmoud entered the field instead of Mohamed Ashraf and Ahmed Sayed Abdelnaby.
We kept trying to equalize, but the opponent’s defenders stood their ground and blocked our attempts until the referee blew his final whistle.
